Texas Roadtrip

DSCF2745.jpg

This trip was the ULTIMATE girls adventure- filled with a lot of Margaritas and delicious Mexican food. Despite going in October, temperatures hit in the 90’s and then dropped to the 40’s, so pack smart! Start in San Antonio (honestly our new favorite hotel to stay at is here) and make a road trip to Austin, Texas hitting up some trendy shops, restaurants, and local wall murals. Then end in Waco Texas (yes, we had some obsessed Chip & Joanna fans with us). We accomplished this girls’ trip in 5 days, making us want to go back and explore more of this southern state.

San Antonio

WHERE TO STAY

HOTEL EMMA: Our new favorite hotel due to décor, a quiet pool, and margarita happy hour! Avg. Nightly Stay: $450

WHERE TO EAT

·      LA GLORIA- Authentic Mexican dishes right beside Hotel Emma.

·      PEARL BREWERY- Sit outside and enjoy awesome dinner and drinks in the heart of the Pearl District. P.S, great spot for people watching!

·      HIGH STREET WINE & CO- Hidden in a shopping cove, come here for a bottle of wine and cheese pairings before shopping and exploring!

ACTIVITES:

·      THE SAN ANTONIO RIVER WALK (Hotel Emma provides bikes)- You can either bike or walk it, just be careful you don’t fall in the river as there are no railings! When you get close to downtown, there are restaurants you can stop at to eat and drink.

·      THE ALAMO AND THE SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS- The touristy things to do, but go to a few to please your die hard tourist travelers.

·      THE PEARL FARMER’S MARKET- A must-do if you’re here on the weekend! Every Saturday from 9am - 1pm, check out all of the amazing food from local vendors. We had some killer kombucha and bought some wine and cheese to eat later on our road trip.
